Digital Editing Final:
Boston Sports X Under Pressure
For our final project in a Digital Editing course during my senior year at Lasell, we were tasked with creating a full-length edit set to a four-minute song of our choosing. The only requirement was that the song match the feel, vibe, and flow of the footage throughout the piece.
Being the crazed Boston sports fan I am, I instantly knew what I wanted the video to cover. Now, I just needed the right song to bring it all together. After scrolling through my playlist, I landed on the perfect track to capture the legendary status Boston holds in the sports world. Queen's Under Pressure quickly became the blueprint for the project, influencing not only how I organized my clips, but how I timed and choreographed the entire edit around the track
@RandyElfman On The Street:
Red Sox Fans VS Yankees Fans, Wild Card Game One Highlights
One of the earliest things I noticed when producing content for social media is that not every video needs an elaborate edit to generate views. Some of the best moments happen during the game, in real time, and I believe knowing how to capture them is a skill of its own.
At this particular Bruins game, I focused on recognizing those moments as they unfolded and getting them in front of @RandyElfman's audience as quickly as possible.
With little to no editing needed, these clips can make for highly engaging content while the moment is still fresh. It's a fast-paced side of production that I've enjoyed developing and that continues to drive strong engagement.
Few sports environments bring out more passion than a Red Sox-Yankees playoff game, and Randy and I wanted to capture that experience to its absolute maximum potential. So, as any sane Red Sox fans would do, we drove down to The Bronx for Game One of the team's 2026 Wild Card Series.
Getting up close and personal with both fanbases gave us a firsthand look at the tension, the personalities, and the ridiculous things that come out of people's mouths when a rivalry reaches its boiling point. From the trash talk to the all-around chaos, we wanted to capture what makes this matchup one of the most entertaining rivalries in sports.
First Vlog:
First attempt at editing long form content
Taking a camera on the road to New York gave Randy and I the chance to explore a different side of video production. Rather than focusing on one interview or moment, the goal was to capture the experience as a whole. Even though the trip didn’t go as planned, I still wanted to turn it into a story that viewers could feel like they were part of.
Regardless of how the trip panned it, it was an experience that gave me a taste of vlog-style storytelling and one I'm excited to continue building on.
Senior Capstone Video:
Lasell Village Spotlight
In the weeks leading up to our Senior Capstone proposals, my pitch went through plenty of transformations. Through all the changes of heart, one vision stayed the same. I've always been a big fan of the work Matt Shearer does for WBZ, particularly his series where he visits different Massachusetts towns, gets to know the people who live there, and explores what makes each community unique.
I began to wonder if something similar could be done on campus at Lasell. Then I realized we had our own community within a community: the Lasell Village retirement community. After shadowing Matt on one of his shoots and having the chance to pick his brain, I ran with the idea. I started getting to know residents and hearing their stories by attending events like bingo nights and simply striking up conversations with them in the halls.
The more I got to know the residents, the more I realized how much the Village had to offer beyond what someone might see at first glance. I wanted the final video to capture that sense of community and show a side of Lasell that people might not already be aware of.
All footage is my own.
